Here we go again: Submissions
I thought I'd take you back to the summer and what process I went through.
This process will be different for everybody. I spent hours upon hours reading different stories and blogs from authors across the world. Every single one was unique. Naturally I found that both reassuring and slightly terrifying. There was no set way to do this. I could read as much advice as I wanted, but there was no single, guaranteed road to success.
I grabbed myself a copy of the Writers' & Artists' Yearbook 2021 and began preparing to submit my new manuscript. Based on my previous experience, I compiled a list of agencies who I liked the look of (study their websites, read their submission guidelines!) and those who had been pleasant to deal with on my previous manuscript. You just know when you get a good vibe from someone even in the shortest of emails - especially a rejection.
